Music without a fixed lane.
Mau y Mendoza is an independent band from Tecámac, State of Mexico. The trio brings together Mauricio (Mau), Emmanuel (Emma) and Cassandra (Cassi), whose different musical backgrounds shape a sound that resists a single genre label.
In interviews, the band has described its interest in experimentation and in bringing Mexican and wider Latin American roots into its songs. Their music moves between indie pop, jazz, psychedelic rock and folk references, with songs such as “Huapango” and “Acapulco” taking different routes through that palette.
Their own creative space, Good Good Bueno, became a base for writing and trying ideas together. They also recorded at Topetitud; Juan Sebastián Rodríguez handled mixing and mastering for “Hanguear.”

A few points of entry
Songs and live work.
The 2025 singles “Huapango,” “Acapulco” and “Hanguear” formed a connected run of releases, described by the band through images of flowers, water and fire. Apple Music lists “33” as a 2026 single and documents earlier releases going back to their 2017 EP.
Their live history includes Foro del Tejedor and Foro La Paz in Mexico City, as well as dates in Zacatecas, Morelia, León and Guadalajara.
